Up to 2020, we published a range of fiction, poetry, children’s books, memoir, biography and journalism, and many of these were under our Submarine imprint – books where authors contributed towards the costs of publication. 

The name Submarine comes from the submarine boom built between Mākaro Island and Eastbourne in WWII to stop submarines entering the harbour. It also provided an excellent bridge to the island for the nimble of foot.
